O'Banion's Aspen Lake Ranch Private Trophy Pond Open Year Around for Catch & Release Fly Fishing. CALL THE SHOP FOR WATER & FISHING CONDITIONS and availability. Availability for this water is in flux, Mr. O'Banion passed away and the family is attempting to keep it open. We suggest you call for more info. Nestled at the foot of the Pine Nut Mountain Range near Wellington, NV the pond holds the original strain of Mt. Whitney Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout that can range in size from 1 to 6 pounds!

Have you gotten your new 2019 California Fishing License? The following waters are C&R, barbless, no bait, no kill:: The East Carson, CA,, flowing downstream from Hangman's Bridge , outside of Markleeville,CA, to the Nevada state line remains open for Catch & Release fishing.. Barbless, no bait, no kill West Walker in the canyon area along Hwy 395 (Sonora area is NOT open) East Walker, headwall of Bridgeport Reservoir to the NV state line East Walker -Rosaschi Ranch Topaz Lake opened January 1st, a CA or NV license will work there! Though if you fish the inlet, it is catch and release and CA license is required.. Mason Valley Wildlife Management area North of Yerington NV open the 2nd Saturday of February. North & Bass Ponds and Hinkson Slough, all open in the Management area and float-tubing can be quite enjoyable, and get you into waters that shore fishing cannot! FLY TYING CLASS 2019 ** NEW EVENING CLASS ON THE SCHEDULE ** Our fly tying classes are scheduled in the Winter months. The first class starts on the 2nd Saturday of each month and ends on the 3rd Saturday (when available) . *April Class is a 4 day EVENING, dates to be determined. All Materials, tools are included in this 2 day class. Taught by professional & commercial fly tyer, Liz Weirauch. This 2 day class has taken hundreds of students through beginning flies to the more advanced techniques. It's important to know material usage, which you don't get in a YouTube video.
