LOCAL FLY-FISHING CLUBS We encourage anyone that is the least bit interested in fly-fishing, that you take advantage of these friendly and helpful organizations. High Sierra Fly Casters, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the encouragement of fly fishing and the maintenance of the fisheries of northwestern Nevada and Northeastern California. They meet each month on the 2nd Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Elks Lodge at 1227 Kimmerling Road (Map) in Gardnerville Ranchos. Doors open at 6:30pm. Meeting starts at 7:00pm. Anyone interested in beginning fly-fishing and those that are obsessed by it, are welcome to attend. The Club plans a fish-out to a local water once a month, with a fish-master for that water in attendance.
Carson Fly Fishing Club,
meetings are held the second
Tuesday of each month (depending upon holidays or events), at the
Carson City Sheriff’s Office on East Musser Street. The Club plans monthly fish-outs and "Tier's Cabin" for persons to learn a chosen fly pattern. Truckee River Fly Fishers, A club dedicated to improving and promoting the sport of fly fishing in Nevada. We promote and encourage the conservation of game fish, especially wild trout, through the betterment of streams, lakes, and rivers everywhere. We encourage and assist our youth to become fly fishers and true sportspersons.
Tahoe Truckee Fly Fishers: The club typically meets at OB's in downtown Truckee beginning with a social hour at 6:30 and the general meeting starting at 7:30.
